Lever door handles that droop could be the result of a number of factors. The most common reason is that the fixings have been over tightened, and are putting pressure on the bearings of the lever, and causing it to pull against the door face. It could also be because the levers aren't operated at a straight angle and this is compressing the latch mechanism and preventing it from fully springing back into service.
A common cause of a sprung lever not working properly is that the spring is not being in the proper position on the backplate. To determine if the handle returns to horizontal, simply operate it.
If your door handles are loose, it is important to identify the issue fast, as this can lead to excessive wear on the screws and possibly to the handle falling off the base plate. It is also a good idea to tighten all screws that are loose on a regular basis, as this will help to prevent them from loosening.
